Valerie F. McCord is president of eBizVisibility and a professional Search Engine Optimization and Marketing consultant, located in Fayston, Vermont. What distinguishes me from many SEO/SEM consultants is my strong computer science and programming background with professional experience as a software engineer, web developer, business analyst and program leader. I'm a seasoned professional first; I have additionally acquired & tuned my search engine optimization and marketing skill set.

I know first hand how powerful the Internet and search engine technology can be to the success of a business. I have a long history in high-technology in Massachusetts and have been a small lodging business owner in Vermont. Now I'm an Internet business consultant, specializing in marketing with search engines, like Google, from my business in VT.

As a power user of the web, I stay fully connected to search engine news, web technology and SEM strategies on a regular basis. I'm a member of Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) and Search Engine Marketing New England (SEMNE). I travel to search engine and marketing conferences to stay informed, such as the Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo and Vermont/New Hampshire Direct Marketing Group conference.

I worked in Massachusetts in the high-tech software product development and consulting services industries for 15 years before moving to Vermont in 2002. (Some of you may know me by my then, married name, Valerie Evangelisto.)

I have been professionally programming since 1986, working in web technology since 1998 and focused on search engine technology and marketing since 2004. I've worn many hats throughout the years from C/C++ computer programmer, GUI developer, business analyst, web developer, project manager and team leader. My specialties now include search engine optimizer, search engine marketer and SEO/SEM consultant.

My related educational background includes:

• Search Engine Marketing/Optimization Training from conferences, online publications, books, articles and newsletters by SEO, SEM and Internet marketing industry leaders.
• Advanced Training in Communication from Woodbury College in Montpelier, Vermont.
• Lodging & Hospitality Internet Marketing Experience as former Co-owner/Innkeeper of a Vermont Bed & Breadfast.
• Bachelors of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
